The accompanying dataset charts collection costs at TU Delft Library from 2021 - 2022.

Notes these are budgeted costs and not actual costs. There may have been some variance in what was actually spent.

Collections are acquired in three ways
- Via national deals organise by SURF
- Via intermediary partners who handle the costs on TU Delft's behalf
- Via TU Delft organising bilateral deals directly with publishers

It also includes cost for 'Read and Publish' deals - these are national deals where Dutch universities pay for 1) for subscription to existing closed or hybrid access journals and 2) APCs (Article Processing Charges) to allow scientists to publish Open Access. This adds extra costs to the 'Journals acquired via Surf' row

The costs have been gathered and calculated by members of staff at TU Delft Library including Karin Clavel, Daniel van Noordenne, Jorden Essen, Jan van der Heul, Just de Leeuwe, Louise Otting, Marina Lebedeva, Han Heijmans and Alastair Dunning
